The widow's friends

Cards and flowers are a
widow's best friend
one lets her keep
the memories of time
the other lets her
let go of whats gone away

when you're buying her flowers
get the ones that are colourless
while sending her a card
remember to sign your name

the flowers will wilt and fade away
the cards might catch fire
and burn some day
a life has already passed her by
soon her name will also not stay
